Broken app but still excellent
Ordered April 2018. The scooter turned on and was ready to go straight out of the box. The Mi Home and Ninebot app were not able to connect to the scooter though, this meant I was unable to turn on Cruise Control or check my speed, etc. The folding mechanism has a little rattle on it when riding, people online have used cheap 3D printed parts to sort out that problem, you can also try sticking some some thin rubber or folded paper in there as well. After riding for several days without Cruise Control my right thumb hurts a bit from constantly using the throttle. The apps and scooter are still unable to connect to one another. I've even tried switching my location to overseas but all that does is mess up the language and still won't connect to the scooter. My phone also doesn't detect any bluetooth signal coming from the scooter, is it broken I wonder? **APP: 2 WEEKS IN UPDATE** I got the app working ONCE on my Pixel 2 phone: turned on Mi Home app, click (+) on the app to add a new device, turned on scooter, and it connected! I was finally able to turn on Cruise Control which helped a ton when you're doing a long commute on a clear street / bike lane. After that I couldn't get it to connect again but at least I turned on the one feature I wanted. Updated to 1.3.8 firmware: the scooter accelerates off the line slower, but because of this it saves some power and it gets closer to the advertised range. I also noticed a bit more torque going up inclines? I'm not saying its going to go up a steep hill at 15mph but I think my 6mph neighborhood hill climb is now going slightly faster at 8mph. Side note: It took me about 6 times to connect my phone for the firmware update, the app still sucks. **TIRES: 4 WEEKS IN UPDATE** Now I've tested both the latest solid tire option from China (145mm inner diameter, generation 2.5 or whatever) and the original tire & tube option. The solid tires are garbage: super heavy, no grip so I ended up losing control a few times, fell once, the scooter accelerated at 1/2 the speed, think I lost 1/2 the mileage, and they transmit every bump on the road to the point of launching you off the scooter. The pneumatic tire & tube option is what the scooter was designed for and it is what I will stick to. You can add slime sealant or a bicycle liner to prevent punctures on the original tire. I added about 2oz of slime to each of my wheels and I've pulled out sharp metal debris without any leaks, it's also just enough to coat the inner tube without adding too much of a weight penalty. **MISC** This scooter is the best bang for buck purchase around the $400 mark, other scooters are either too slow or too expensive. I've been using this as my primary commuter / transport and only use my car once a week to get groceries. So far so good! I want to point out another good thing about this scooter is the large community behind it. You can google M365 Forum or help and you can get answers to most of the questions you have and links to purchase replacement parts. I tried to do research on a few competing scooters in the price range and came up short when looking for replacement parts / troubleshooting.
