I am very happy with this heavy cream powder which exceeded my expectations. I've purchased other products from Hoosier Hill Farm in the past and have never been disappointed. This is literally a lifesaver in my pantry. I don't often use heavy cream, but when I do, it's so expensive!!! This powder dissolves completely in tepid or warm water; I use a small whisk to mix it. I've used the blender, but the foamy top leaves a funny residue if you let it set overnight. I've also found that the warm mixture will become really thicker and more creamy overnight. I mixed some powder with tepid and put it in my Bosch Universal Mixer to make whipped cream -- WOW what a flavor and how beautifully it whipped up -- great consistency too! Yes, I add a touch of powdered sugar and vanilla extract to it as well. Really comes out very nicely. I've added this to some gravies to make them creamy and thick and to desserts as whipped cream. I'll never again buy a container from the store -- this powder is IT. I just wish the measurements were a little more workable. I had to finagle my own measurements... the container calls for 3/8 cup powder to a cup of water. Who has a 1/8 measuring cup? Instead I used 1/2 cup powder to a cup of water and I get the best results every time. My final test was to use this in coffee.... oh my goodness, I feel like I'm cheating.... it's SO delicious!!!
