Excellent case. Better than the $90 Belkin case that I returned.
After extensively searching through reviews online and for YouTube videos to find the best keyboard case for my 4th gen iPad, I originally decided on the Belkin QODE Ultimate Wireless Keyboard. You can read my full review of that case on its Amazon page. Needless to say, I returned it. It was around $90.00 and although a very nice case, it has issues with the latest version of iOS (as of August 2015) that made it nearly unusable. (Constantly disconnecting while I was typing, and also - typing in the same character over and over until manually disconnected, like thissssssssss). I did more research (a lot more) and decided on this Anker case. I wasn't sure what to expect based on the low cost but the quality and functionality of this case blew me away. It's as if every important feature has been added, while other (less important) features were disregarding. This simplifies the case (less stuff to break) and focuses on what matters (to me anyway). The case looks very nice (open or closed). It's about as thick as an upright US nickel (see pictures). The outside has a pleather feel. Not soft but with a good grip. A good thing. It feels like it will last. It does not have any sort of mechanism to keep it closed. This is not important to me as it stays shut just fine without it. The inside of the case has a plush feel. Sort of like soft microfiber. The screen does not touch the buttons when closed because the top two clips that hold in the iPad are a tad bit thicker and provide a tiny gap between the screen and keys when closed. The keyboard works great, with just the right amount of spring. They feel a little more springy than my laptop keyboard, but perfectly well within a comfortable level. The keyboard compatibility and action are great. The function keys allow for iPad controls for things like dimming, turning on-screen keyboard on/off, opening Safari, as well as music/media play/stop/fwd/rwd controls, and volume controls. I've not had any issue with the keyboard disconnecting when I'm typing nor has it double typed any characters (both of these were issues I had with other keyboard cases). Typing is smooth and I can type just as fast on it as I can on a normal computer keyboard. Also, this case automatically connects the keyboard to the iPad when the iPad is sitting on the (strong) magnets that lock it into place for typing. A big plus for this case is that you can use the iPad in "tablet mode" like you normally would without a keyboard. Meaning, the case folds down over the keyboard so you can hold your iPad in your hands like you would normally do when using the touch interface for other apps (see pictures). They keyboard automatically disconnects when you do this, so you don't accidentally type anything if you bump the buttons. This case allows two different options for using the iPad in "tablet" mode. You can either fold the iPad down over the keyboard, or simply fold the entire case backwards and up against the back of the iPad (see pictures). The only imperfection I see on this case is that the camera hole is a little offset, although it does not affect the ability to take pictures with the case on the iPad. I really can't say enough about this case. It's a perfect solution. They could easily have charged double for this. Highly recommend.
