My new favorite jeans EVAR!
Honestly, at 5'4", 165 lbs. I've always thought I was just too chunky to even think of wearing skinny jeans. For the longest time Ive been hoping they'd finally go out of style, but that probably won't happen any time soon. So at 45 yrs old, in an effort to not look completely fashion-challenged, I updated all my bootcut jeans with more streamlined straight leg versions. I thought they looked OK until just recently when I was admiring my awesome new knee high leather boots in my full-length mirror and I reluctantly came to the realization that I had avoided it long enough; I was finally ready to "attempt" the skinny jeans style.
So I found a pair of Levi's 535s on sale, brought them home, and after a generous serving of wine (for courage) I bravely stuffed, squeezed, and shimmied my way into that poor unsuspecting pair of skinny jeans. Then, with another generous serving of wine (for more courage) I resignedly faced the mirror to inspect my new purchase. My first thought was WOW!! this wine - er- pair of jeans makes my butt look GREAT!!
I was impressed by how comfortable these skinny jeans were, and super excited that they were actually flattering!! Even my (completely wine-free) husband totally agreed!
Giddy with excitement over my newfound appreciation of the skinny jean style (and probably that third glass of wine), I decided "fat butt be damned - I need more skinny jeans!! Log me on to Amazon, STAT!!" And that's when I found the Holy Grail of skinny jeans. They're called "Levi's Slimming Skinny Jeans," and the description says they're made of 100% cotton, but after seeing a photo of my butt wearing these jeans, I'm going to have to insist they change that to 90% Cotton, 10% Magic. Seriously.
