Surprisingly Impressed, truly grateful!
True story this: I have "Royal Toe," also known as Greek Toe, or more clinically, Morton's Toe, which is where the "big" toe is actually shorter than the second, and even other toes. Morton's Toe accounts for approximately 80% of non-diabetic foot problems, particularly ingrown nails and chronic infections. I had been struggling with my right toe since April of 2014 (it is now July 2016), with monthly -- sometimes weekly -- visits to the foot doctor with no relief. I couldn't walk or sit from the pain in my foot, leg, and resulting pain in my back, and I couldn't sleep with pain that felt like hot spikes being driven into it. Nail was cut, cauterized and whatnot, but I had a perpetual infection that, no matter what pricey prescription was thrown at me, didn't seem to help. I finally went to the internet, dug deep beyond the typical "WebMD" regurgitated info to see what real people found worked/didn't work. Easily 50% of the success stories involved Tea Tree Oil. I was ready to have the toe amputated, so what was a few dollars on an experiment?
I received my bottle on Thursday, July 7th and immediately applied some after soaking the toe. There was an almost instant sense of relief -- not quite pain-diminished relief, but overall soreness was relieved. I continued to soak once a day and applied the oil directly to the nail/toe thrice a day. On Saturday the infection (which the doctor kept insisting I didn't have) started coming to a head at the side of the nail bed where the nail was partially removed. On Sunday afternoon, I noticed a wet spot on my socks (I hadn't been able to wear real shoes in more than a year....and when you have a closet full of gorgeous shoes, THAT is a tragedy), and when I looked, infection was seeping out of the side of the toe. Oh, the relief! The toe is still weeping a little, but I can see it is finally starting to heal. Last night I wore the most adorable pair of peacock blue kitten heels that had been sitting untouched for more than a year. I can wear shoes again! I can walk! I can sleep without pain! I can bend and work in the garden! ....did I mention I can wear cute designer shoes again?
BOTTOM LINE -- IN NINE DAYS I HAVE SEEN AND FELT MORE OF AN IMPROVEMENT THAN I HAVE IN 16 MONTHS OF BI-WEEKLY DOCTOR VISITS AND TONS OF OVERPRICED PRESCRIPTIONS.
But wait....there's more! I have a wonderful lump of a cat that showed up as a battered and beaten stray five years ago. Mr. Pushy has asthma and while not bad enough to warrant treatment (which is NOT easy on a cat), enough the poor guy wheezers and struggles when air quality is poor or dense. When looking up the uses/benefits of Tea Tree Oil, I saw uses for asthma, and several pet-oriented sites suggested some oil on a cotton ball held under the nose. I tried it, and I must say it seems to help relieve those bouts of wheezing for an hour or so. A mildly asthmatic friend, who was impressed with Mr. Pushy's results, is now putting a drop on his nasal inserts, and he says he has found his breathing is easier.
So overall, I am impressed. I have a friend who has always raved about Tea Tree oil, and now I will be too.
So....what fancy shoes shall I wear tonight? How about the kinky 6-inch heel platforms with the open toe....yeah, that sounds really good!
