I did some research before buying this product because I have always consider solar energy mostly unreliable. I put them in the most optimal positions by using suncal.net which measure the direction of the sun would travel around a destination. I installed it on a later afternoon, and even though, it was gloomy the next 3 days, the light still light up appropriately, an indication that these devices charging power was quite efficient. The light was bright enough for me for me to drive safely into my garage but but would not disturb my neighbor. That's another plus. I also like the fact of no dimming option for power saving. However, one of the device sensor malfunction within a week. I have to be almost directly under it for the light to be activated. The failing of the such critical function of this device so early giving me doubts of 1, the quality of their product, or 2, the cold temperature affect these device performance. The winter is coming, :), with the average weather of H29. L6, 1.23P. Will update. These two solar lights, to my, surprise, are still functioning after almost ten weeks. There are nights when the weather was below -18F. The sensor malfunctioned device is still working even though it can only detect movement from 1/2 a foot to 2 feet at different angle, which fell short of 3 feet detection on its description. However, given that the product did indicate that this device is suitable for most weather, unlike others that state their products are "weatherproof", I cannot fault them on this. We'll see if the devices can endure the next 2 months which predicted to be in record cold in my area. Will update. Last update. It's been a whole year since I bought these 2 solar lights. They're still working. I gotta admit, I now see great values in solar energy in the near future.
