proud meat hammer owner
Executive summary: this meat hammer will hammer meat...easy to grip, fun to use, cleans up easily.
Over a year ago, my wife wanted to make a pork schnitzel at home. Schnitzel? You think you really know someone and suddenly this? Anyway, the schnitzel recipe demanded that the pork be hammered. I asked her where the nearest pig fraternity party was...she didn't get my meaning and went to fetch an old hammer from my basement tool box. Now a regular hammer works ok as a meat hammer...but I worried that the pork would taste like rusty nails and paint. I lived in fear for a few months...worried about tetanus every time the wife made schnitzel. Then I decided to get a tool dedicated solely for use in the kitchen; after extensive research I found this device. I had some hesitation before purchasing since the business end of the hammer wasn't made of metal...it is a dense rubber/plastic-type material. After using it a few times, it works really well. Now according to Norse legend, there is a hammer known as Mjölnir capable of leveling mountains...unfortunately this is not that hammer. But for regular kitchen use, this hammer is nice; I am pretty happy.
