This turkey fryer is at least 4 stars. I took off a star for lack of information and I will explain. This is the bigger of butterball fryer's and i figured in case I wanted to go big (which I plan to for thanksgiving) it comes in handy but it also uses a ton of oil. With that said, I bought a 4.5 gallon container of peanut oil and used at least half to fry up 14 drumsticks. Another reviewer said everything clumped together but if you drop everything in one at a time you'll have no problem. Everything came out great, it took about 35 minutes to get to 375 degrees. The basket is a bit tricky b/c it's front heavy but I heated the oil with the basket in it so it was fine to just take it out to drain. I used tongs to drop drumsticks in and when I fry a turkey I will update my review but I plan to follow same routine. Cleanup: b/c the spout is elevated any residue on the bottom actually stays on the bottom. I let the oil cool for about 4-5 hours and it came out crystal clear, which I plan to use again. The directions say wipe everything down and I am guessing that is the best way to go about cleanup. After draining a few paper towels will take everything right up. The lack of information was with the manual. Not a lot of recipes. Says you can't use an extension cord and you shouldn't use it outside b/c of rain. I used it in my garage with an extension cord and it worked perfectly and my garage smelt like a chicken joint all night. The cord provided is short and fragile so I wanted it to be away from the wall. I get the setup and why you shouldn't use an extension cord b/c it does use a bunch of power but they are just covering their behinds. All in all I think this is well worth the investment. The 35+ minute preheating makes it tough to throw some wings in or fry up some oreos but it's simple to use, fairly easy cleanup and food tastes amazing!!
