You can't beat the price and it works great as long as you know how to make rice. I had one of these before and never had any problems with it. I had to get rid of my old one in the military to drop weight for shipping my household goods. When I went to buy a new one on here so many people says it burns their rice. I have cooked 3 batches of perfect rice out of this one so far. I was taught by my brother that has lived in Thailand for 20 years to never follow package directions when making rice. Just rinse the rice and fill the water one fingertip above the rice level and it comes out perfect every time! He is right! Just keep in mind people have different sizes of fingertips. I'm a big guy at 6'5" and I only put water just above my fingernail but a Thai persons fingertip would probably equal my fingernail. Stick with this and you will have great rice and no more reading directions on packages that don't work. I also always unplug it right when its done, maybe the keep warm feature is whats burning other peoples rice but I'll never know cause I try and save energy when there is no reason to waist it. Try to keep life simple!
