I have to say i was a little nervous when i ordered this because I wasn't sure if it would hold a good charge, with all the bad reviews about the charge not lasting long. Well I bought this for my brothers camping trip so i could charge my phone, laptop, e-cig and fill up my air mattress for my tent. It did all of that plus some. -Before anything- Remember it says on the box it comes pre charged, not fully charged but i has some charge to it already. So when you plug it in only leave it in until the light turns from red to green. The reason all those people complained about the charge is because they tried to charge it the amount of time the instructions said to when it didn't need it. “Sealed Ni–Cd cells consist of a pressure vessel that is usually contains any generation of oxygen and hydrogen gases until they can recombine back to water. Such generation typically occurs during rapid charge and discharge and exceedingly at overcharge condition. If the pressure exceeds the limit of the safety valve, water in the form of gas is lost. Since the vessel is designed to contain an exact amount of electrolyte this loss will rapidly affect the capacity of the cell and its ability to receive and deliver current. Most of the time, when you leave a battery like this on the charger for longer than your supposed to the charger cannot tell that the battery is full, so it keeps sending the electrical current to the battery, which causes it to overcharge and or overheat which ends up damaging it. Rechargeable batteries lose a little bit of their holding capacity every time they are overcharged. -For the first use, watch the light and when it turns green, take it off the charger. -Charge it after each use, just be sure to keep an eye on it and when the light turns green, take it off the charger. If you do this, then this will be a wonderful buy for you :) like it was for me. This is how it performed for me 1st use... 1. Filled up air mattress 1x and then filled the mattress again a little more later in the evening before bed 2. Kept my laptop charged while we watched a movie before bed in our tent. 3. Gave my iPhone 6 a full charge the next day from dead. 4. Charged my e-cig to a full charge that same day 5. I was able to deflate my air mattress with it when leaving I only went camping for oh ...2 days and It lasted the whole 2 days. I wasn't using it constantly, only with the things I needed charged. When i wasn't using it I had it shut off. This also comes with jumper cables that you can start your car with, with the hand generator. I haven't tried this yet but when I do I'll update my review. You can fill you tires up with it if you ever get a flat. I have not used this feature yet but like I said I'll let you know. It has a flashlight on the front of it which I think is pretty awesome. It has a car charger port, so you can charge it in your car. It has a 120 volt outlet and a USB outlet. A replaceable 20 amp inverter fuse. I might have left some features out but in a nutshell those are the other awesome things it has and can do. All in all, i would highly recommend this product. It works great and its for a good price. Personally I'm keeping it in my car and take it everywhere with me. I love that its light weight and small so its easy to transport.
