Update 12/7: Wireless connectivity has been great - never failed to connect to phone in over a hundred conversations/live views. Was considering buying a range extender or mesh wifi just for my Ring 2, which failed to connect almost half of the time, but now with this Eufy there is no need. Summary: Excellent value for the money. Fast and reliable doorbell connection and notification. Good motion detection sensitivity and video quality. Easy to setup. Had to reduce detection sensitivity to fix false motion alarms during the night (during the day it was fine). Update 10/28: Eufy updated the app with a new Motion Detection setting ("Enable human only at night") that, when enabled, seems to have fixed the night time false motion alarm problem. Pros: 1. Doorbell connects quickly and reliably to phone. 2. Good video and audio quality during conversation and live view. WDR automatically brighten peoples' faces when they enter the porch. 3. Customized motion detection zone works well to exclude car traffic facing doorbell. 4. The Chime also acts as a kind of wifi extender (it connects to the wifi router and then the doorbell connects to it), potentially giving the doorbell better and more reliable wireless connection. It is recommended to place the Chime half way between the doorbell and the wifi router. 5. The Chime also act as a base station (for storing video with an inserted SD card), but plugs directly into a wall socket, which greatly increases the flexibility of its placement, because it doesn't need a table or shelf to rest on. 6. Each video clip takes about 2MB to 4MB, so a 32G SD card should last a few months. 7. No monthly fees. Cons: 1. Battery is not removable. Full charge from 0% takes 6 hours. 2. Auto brightness (WDR) adjustment takes a few seconds after video starts. Overall: The Eufy has solved 3 problems I've been having with my Ring 2 doorbell: 1) failure to connect to my phone about 20% to 50% of the time, 2) video would be laggy and blocky for the first few seconds after connection (even though it says wifi signal is fine), and 3) frequent false alarm from passing cars on the street facing the doorbell, even after fiddling with detection zone and sensitivity for a week. One positive surprise: during the setup, the Chime tells you in a pleasant voice 1) when it is ready for setup, 2) when it is ready for wifi connection, and 3) when the setup is done, so you don't have to look up what LED colors/blinking on the Chime mean.
