The Pros, Cons and Oks for Samsung Tab S6 10.5" Bookcover (HR).
Pros:
• You’re able to detach the keyboard from the back cover. I’m very happy for this because I rarely use the keyboard if I’m just YouTube browsing on the S6. I can see this to be helpful if you just have no room and need to ditch the keyboard without taking off the whole cover.
• The trackpad is good, not great. I’m giving this a pro because it’s still very productive to have. All I do is take out my tablet, with this cover, and just like that, I have a keyboard and a trackpad.
• The shortcut keys make everything easier. I used the Dex mode shortcut key but you can customize some shortcut keys. Still, the Dex mode is something that you’re going to use all the time if you want to type.
• With the keyboard I’m not getting flex, and you get a clicky response for each key. Decent travel time.
• It just “Snaps” to the S6. No cables, power adaptors, nothing. Just Snap and begin (the pins connectors on the S6 is the reason why).
• The kickstand can be easily adjusted to numerous angles. Very similar to the surface pro, so finding your spot will not be hard.
• The back cover, where the S-Pen holds, is very sturdy with built-in magnets. With this cover, I feel that I don’t have to worry about losing the S-Pen when this cover is in place. It’s also very simple to open and close the cover to get your Pen.
• Connecting the S6 to my monitor, the keyboard and trackpad all work just fine.
• A premium feel all around, sturdy magnets for the back cover and the back stand. You’ll be happy to have this.
Cons and Oks:
• The price is very high for a book cover.
• The keys are small and feel a bit cramped when I was typing.
• Some important keys like the “Shift” and “Delete” buttons do take some time to get use to the size reduction.
• The trackpad sensitivity isn’t consistent all the time, and it’s LOUD when you press down on it.
• The back cover has an adhesive, suction, tape for it to stick on the tablet. It is fine right now, but any adhesive does get wore out over time. I have to see what’s going to happen in the future, but it’s something you should know.
• Laying the cover on your lap, be worn that the kickstand may not that useful if your knees are moving around.
• You do get some keyboard stains on the screen, which can be clean off with any wipe.
Bottom Line:
It’s still a great keyboard book cover. To have a keyboard that not only gives responsive key clicks, but also has a back pocket built for my S-Pen is well-organized. The Pin connectors are very sturdy as I got no wobble from the keyboard and to top all of this off, you get a trackpad!
Most of the issues are minimal and are similar to any tablet keyboard. But I will say that the main issue is the price. You’re paying a lot for an accessory of a tablet. I’m not a fan of this pricing, but if you want the S6 to feel more like a laptop, and make sure that your S-Pen will stay in place, then this is a need. Just the price…waaayyy too high.
Overall: One of the best tablet keyboards out there, but also one of the most expensive tablet keyboards out there.
Hope I was a help to you.
