Go 'Old School' with this good, basic unit
Yeah … if you have the notion to go “Old School” and/or want to make use of a good old cassette tapes, this unit is a basic and fine piece of equipment that works well. Actually, my wife purchased this – she has been playing with a local bar band for some 30 years. When she started out in the late 1980, a portable recorder like this was standard equipment. It's handy great for recording practice sessions, or when you’re trying to learn a song on the guitar – or when you’re writing a new song and you want to play it back to yourself – this is a simple, handy unit that makes it easy to record – play back – rewind – find a part you’re looking for, and so on. Why not use all the modern digital audio players/recorders? No reason, but many people just find this older technology “familiar and comfortable” – a portable piece of equipment that records well and plays back faithfully. Simple. But speaking of “modern” – this unit is compatible with your iPod, mp3 unit or other digital audio formats – you connect to these with an auxiliary jack. So you can record on this an transfer to, say, an iPod or tablet, and vice versa. I find this to be a solid, well-built machine. The buttons work smoothly and the tape door glides open nicely. It comes with a built-in mic, as well as a detachable, stand-alone mic. You can run it plugged in with the power cord, or it will play with 4 standard C-Cell batteries.(Batteries not included). So I find nothing to complain about and everything to like with this good, basic tape player and recorder.
