This is the only kind of litter box I'll ever buy. It is high-quality and easy to use. My cats hate the swinging door, so I removed that. I also stack the boxes differently from the instructions because otherwise the grating will get clogged and disgusting. It looks complicated, but it's definitely super easy. DON'T DO IT THIS WAY The manufacturer says to stack the boxes like this: Lid Litter Black grate on top Tan solid box 1 Tan solid box 2 When cleaning litter: Sift from black grate into tan box 1, dump grate and put in empty tan box 2, pour litter on top and put the now empty tan box 1 on bottom. After changing it would be: Lid Litter Black grate Tan box 2 Tan box 1 DO THIS INSTEAD However the grate stays much cleaner if you stack it like this: Lid Litter Tan solid box 1 Black grate Tan solid box 2 Pour litter from tan box 1 into the black grate+tan box 2. Sift litter into tan box 2. Dump black grate and put into the empty tan box 1. Place tan box 2, which now has the litter in it, on top of black grate+tan box 1. After changing it will be: Lid Litter Tan box 2 Black grate Tan box 1 I hope that makes sense! :)
