Rugged, but refined looking. I ordered them to brace up a headboard I'm making. They look good and feel very solid. Good value for the money. Edit: As noted, these brackets are perfect for the job where I needed them. I stand by that. But the screws that come with them are junk, so be prepared to replace them. First, they are flathead, but the screw holes are not reamed out to allow the screws to sit flush. They should supply round head screws. And the screws provided are junk. The heads of two of them snapped right off with normal torque. Buy the brackets. They really are excellent and a great value for the price. But bring your own screws.
