At night my front porch is pitch black dark. I can't even see which key to use for the front door. Not anymore! This thing is the perfect brightness, it doesn't blind me if I look at the light but it provides enough light for the entire area I wish to illuminate. I attached two pics to show how great it lights up my doorway now. Please note that when you add the C batteries it adds a lot of weight to this thing. UPDATE I can't believe six years later outdoors and this thing is still going strong.
