I have used the Tide washing machine packets in the past and have even resorted to trying straight bleach cycles to try to get rid of the stink coming from our washing machine. Nothing seemed to work. The smell was usually masked for a few days, but after running a load it would be back in full force. I tried finding this product in local stores, but finally found it here on Amazon! This stuff really works!! It has that bleach smell to it and I have to run 2 extra rinse cycles to clear it out, but it really did get rid of the smell for good. Every few weeks I run a quick clean cycle and if I start smelling anything, I'll add this Clorox cleaner to the clean cycle. Amazing product! So happy to have finally found a solution! Quick Tip - Be sure to shake the bottle up before pouring. UPDATE: Two years later, my front loading washing machine has black mold spots built up in the rubber gasket. I have scrubbed the gasket with a bleach/water solution and many other "Pinterest inspired" ideas. I finally came back to this product again and read another reviewer saying they wiped their gasket down with this product before running the cleaning cycle. (I always just followed the instructions on the bottle, so I'd not thought to apply the product directly to the gasket.) I chose to pour the Clorox solution directly onto the black mold trouble areas and then poured more directly onto the wash drum. I spun the drum a few times by hand and then let the solution sit for 1 hour before starting my Clean Cycle. Lo and behold, my washing machine looks sparkly clean now!!! I am ecstatic!!!
