Best air filter. (Better than Germ Guardian). Airthereal APH260 Made my very old basement condo go from old smelling to so fresh and so clean, clean, in 24 hours. I was also going through chemo and needed my place to be super clean and germ-free with minimal effort and without toxic chemicals. It clears the air of about an 700 sq ft open space. I let this run constantly. Pretty much 24 hours a day for almost 8 months and just now need to change the filter. Amazon is out of the replacement filter but you can buy it directly from the manufacturer's website (just google airthereal). Many buttons with options like "anion" to break down molecules and UV light to kill bacteria. Those options have the potential to cause hazards to your health. However, they are optional. I always limit my use with the UV light and anion options. Using the anion option (button with minus sign) breaks up "bad" molecules to a size too small to be trapped by the purifier and you can breathe in those "bad" tiny leftover molecules. BUT a helpful tip I received from another review... When using those options it helps the air quality and your health to put a Sansevieria plant near it. (Sanseviera is also called snake plant, or mother in law's tongue). The plant is cheap, sold everywhere, will not die. The plant aids in absorbing those tiny bad leftover molecules from the anion feature. (There are research studies you can maybe find if you google air purifier, anion, and VOCs) I am buying another Airthereal air purifier for my bedroom. Even on full blast, the air purifier is, of course, audible but still quiet and soothing. It is quieter than a desktop Germ Guardian air purifier. I spent daySSS researching air purifiers before deciding on this one. I honestly think it could compete with the $600+ air purifiers on Amazon.
