Lightweight and Easy Maintenance
Edit 05/23/20: Just an update to say I used this again for the first time this year, 4 years on, and it's still working great. Original review: I debated for a long time before buying this trimmer -- gas powered trimmers are so much more powerful, and manual feed string can save you a little bit of money if you want to be frugal. This item was over $90 when I was considering it, and I thought long and hard. Then Amazon Warehouse had one someone had returned priced at $52, and I jumped on it (along with a spare battery pack). I'm so glad I did! It's lightweight and requires so much less maintenance than the gas powered trimmer I used to own. In my opinion, the convenience far outweighs the power you give up. I'm a middle aged woman who is not in the greatest of health, and my mom is getting up there in age (71), so helping her take care of her yard on the weekends can be difficult. Not only does this little guy help me out with the heavier work by being so light & maneuverable, she is able to easily use it to do light trimming around trees on her own when I'm not there. Being able to just turn it on without having to pullstart a sometimes reluctant motor is a godsend for her. Being a little on the taller side, I also appreciate the telescoping handle. I don't have to stoop over a whole lot to work with it (no lower back pain!), and I can still shorten it when I'm done for easier storage. For its light duty purpose, this runs like a dream. The first time I used it, though, there was a lot of catching up to do on mom's yard. After charging both the included battery and the spare I'd ordered, I was able to do messy HEAVY DUTY chopping for about 40 minutes. If you live out in the country and know how weeds can get overgrown in a ditch & around a mailbox, you know that's impressive! For easier tasks, the battery power of course lasts a bit longer. With the lowering of the price on this item (in the mid-60 dollar range as I write this), I don't think anyone should hesitate to buy it for light duty trimming. I also recommend picking up a spare LBXR20 battery and a couple extra replacement spools, and you'll be set.
