Those accustomed to G-Shock bands will be cool with this
Purchased this Spigen Apple watch band specifically for protection while lifting weights in the gym. I've now exercised about half a dozen times over the past week wearing the band and am highly impressed. The protection is legit. The raised bevel protects the screen and even after bumping the watch a handful of times on kettlebell grips or dumbbells, everything is still good to go with no signs of contact whatsoever. The only issue I had (it has since become a non-issue) concerns the rigidness of the band itself right out of the box. My suspicion is that the grade of silicone used is highly rigid (much more so than a G-shock band that it seems this band is modeled after). After this week of use, however, the rubber has since softened and now it is much more comfortable to wear, as opposed to first use when it was a bit uncomfortable. All in all... if you are looking for serious protection for your $400 investment, this will do just fine.
