I live in the South and was looking for something large capacity because I walk two big dogs at a time. I had a cheap "Gulpy" which worked pretty well, but they would finish the water before we were halfway done our summer walks and of course the plastic didn't do much to keep the water cold. The bottle is sturdy and it's well made, although a bit heavy. But the curved stainless steel body makes it a bit harder to put it in or pull it out of my holder. The silicone leaf can be a bit awkward to flip up all the way; I need to use both hands. And to open the valve, you've got to touch areas where the water will flow or pool, which I don't like because I pick up after my dogs and my hands may not be sufficiently clean. It is nice to be able to drain the water they don't drink back into the bottle so it's not wasted. When you flip the leaf back along the bottle (which also requires 2 hands), the silicone snapping back into position sends residual water flying, which is a bit of an annoyance. Despite these shortcomings, both my dogs are happy to drink from it, it is large capacity, it makes the most of the water you brought with you, and it's sturdy and relatively easy to clean. For a large capacity dog bottle, it's the best I could find for now, so I will keep it, but might keep my eyes out for something a bit easier to use when you have a big dog's leash around each wrist.
