I don't know how this can possibly happen, but it caused me to order a Large, when I really needed an Extra Large. After I received the product and it wouldn't fit, I went to the company's web site and saw a totally different size chart. I'm including that here, in case it is helpful to others. I do like the product, because it is soft, but not so floppy that it closes down over the dog's head when he sleeps.
