I cannot attest to some of the other reviewed comments abt this app not working on the Kindle Fire. Perhaps they had an earlier version. I got mine around the June 2012 timeframe if you want a time stamp and this app works great for me. I use it as an alarm clock, minder for taking medication, and for the kids (ie sharing timer and potty timer). I've customized ringtones using my music and the App has never crashed on me. It more thsn exceeded my expectations. P.S. Having worked in IT, especially in relation to laptops, one reason for crashes is always been the lack of available memory. If Apps are crashing often, then perhsps you should check available space for Apps and for on device memory. If you have less than abt 15% of space available in either then you may not be leaving your device enough room to read/write and maintain error free functionality. So use the cloud to de-install a few of your memory hogging game apps (they'll be available in the cloud) and simply re-indtall them when needed. I know we all like to load our devices up, but all devices snd even people need space and operating room to function well.
