EXCEPTIONAL FILM
There's likely very little middle of the road on this film - either you'll find a great depth of meaning to it..... or you won't. It's a sensitively written and directed reflection on what I can only term metaphysical concepts. If you can grasp the idea of time not being linear in the manner in which it's normally perceived by humans, you'll be off to a good start.
At it's core is a love story; however it's also a great deal more. I inferred the fascinating notion that if death is yet another plane of existence for us, then the dead can experience the same grief and loneliness about dying that the living feel when a loved one dies. And they must come to their own terms, as well, before they are able to move on.
If you are able to simply relax, hand yourself over to the experience of this movie, and fall in pace with it, you may find it as moving as I did. I'm extremely glad that I decided to ignore the couple of highly negative comments I read and make up my own mind.
