My advice, go to a store and try on bathing suits to know your size. That's what I did, and bought this suit in a size 10, and it fits as expected, which is perfect. I'm 5'7, 150 lbs, 34D, and have a sizable gut from sitting down too much for years :( A size 10 was perfect for me. It's ruched so it's hard to see the extra fat you got. My nipples have to tendency to pop out of bras and tight tank tops, so I lifted my arms and put the them down to see if that would happened, and it did not. Thank god. The straps are adjustable, and the bikini bottom is sewn into the top.
