Let me tell you a story of frustration and disappointment - then redemption!! I first went the "cheap" route buying a motor that supposedly would accomplish this task at almost exactly half the price. It took hours to build an appropriate door, rails, install motor, fiddle with adjustments and mechanical timers, run power to coop, etc. etc. After all this this "cheap" device literally started to disintegrate into a pile of worthless plastic chips. After spending days building a whole new case, re-affixing, adjusting, with the ever diminishing working parts it all came to naught when the gears started stripping making the whole thing pointless. So AMAZON was nice enough to allow my return if I bought a replacement - which I did - this device. OMG!! If ONLY I had purchased this first (but then if I had I may not know how good this device really is compared to others - a learning lesson I am hoping to pass on to you) Not only does this include the door but the rails and even the batteries!! I installed it completely (no exaggeration) in about 10 minutes (8 screws). It took me more time to get through the German interpreted instructions than it did to physically install. The real beauty of this device is that it is self adjusting (you have no idea how helpful this is) very rugged, EXTREMELY well made and fantastically engineered (German). Once I turned on tested it I haven't had to touch it at all!! It is designed to work for DECADES and I believe it. Please consider this device seriously before buying anything else. This was a great purchase and me and my chickens are VERY happy! UPDATE: I have had this for over two years now and it is still working flawlessly!!! No problems at all!!
