So this mic seems like a cross between the Rode VideoMic Pro and the Rode VideoMicro. It’s got the shape and build like the Pro but the features are more watered down like the Micro. This microphone sounded pretty good plugged into my smartphone and Zoom H1. When plugged into the Zoom the microphone sounds pretty similar to the Rode so that’s the upside of it. When plugged directly into my camera, there was underlying hiss even though the internal camera gain was turned down low. If you're more than 2 feet away, the raw audio is quiet and almost inaudible so I boosted the audio in Premiere Pro. If you’re on a tight budget, you can get this mic but definitely plug it into an external recorder or your phone. I made a youtube video testing the audio in different situations, so hopefully that will give you a better idea!
