What is the Wire Gauge of this product? See actual photos from a real MN customer eh....
Hello Fellow Amazon Customer, What the heck is the wire gauge (AWG) on this product's connectors? Well.... for the possible answer to this baffling question - please see the photos below I took just for YOU :-) Probably - just like you - it really drives me CRAZY when sellers don't put "simple" product specification in their listing. Well... after my first attempt (using 12V wires) ended in MELTING my initial purchase of some cheap (i.e. low cost) 12V connectors with small AWG wires - that also had no product details in the listing regarding the wire's AWG (ASINs B01LX51QHN and B01M0EAR9N) Obviously - (after the smoke cleared and the fire department left - jk) - I concluded that "I need a set of connectors with larger stranded wire AWG". So... On with the FACTS and more BS... OK - I am trying to power Multiple 12V LED automotive light bars (very bright and low amps) - from a rock solid dual 12V block (ASIN B00CRGUH30) PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert electronics dude and really don't know much about AWG (and obviously neither do most of these reviewers or people who answer questions). However, as you can see in the provided awesome photos (shot on my iPhone 7+, which has no headphone jack... WTH) - I own a fancy and overpriced, Snap-on Blue Point wire cutter/crimper (Made in da USA)... and I am pretty sure that this Snap-on tool's AWG cutting gauge - is correct. Although I have not installed these connectors yet (had to wash the cats again)... I wanted to make sure YOU were able to make the proper decision and product selection - based on actual photos from actual MN customer (i.e. I am not friends nor an employee of this seller or live in China). HERE IS MY WIRE KEY for the PHOTO: WIRE A = ASINs B01LX51QHN and B01M0EAR9N, which stripped clean in the 20-22 AWG slot (bought 2 sets of each... ugh...) WIRE 16 = ASIN B00O72R7Z8 - a very nice LED dual light - wiring harness that stated "16 AWG wire" - stripped clean in the 16/16 AWG slot WIRE B = This Product (ASIN B01A6LTK44), which stripped clean in the 16/14 AWG slot (Special Note: I did try the 16/16 slot and I cut/pulled 2-3 strands of wire... Thus I would conclude that this product wire AWG is closer to 14 AWG. WIRE 18 = A spool of 18 AWG wire I bought at the local Menards (i.e. a giant hardware store) SPECIAL NOTE: The red and black wires are the same AWG on the 2 pin products (I knew some dork would ask this question - so I answered it) OK... Now... Can you help me by doing this FAST and SIMPLE favor? If my detailed and exciting review helped YOU make a better decision and made your day even more awesomer :-) Please take a split second out of your busy day (not working or sitting on the porcelain chair) and "CLICK ON" the YES or HELPFUL button down below! The YES or HELPFUL BUTTON is right after the question... "Was this review helpful to you" (click the YES or HELPFUL button) Have a great day eh! Kent Reed - Founder of FastpitchPros P.S. YOU are the BEST - no matter what anyone says behind your back...
