This thing works great. People may not understand this is just a capture device. Nothing more.
This thing does what you want it to do. I really dont know what all the bad reviews are. It captures the analog signal and can capture the S video out also. Its not going to make your home movies 1080p. They end up on Mac at 720 which is nothing to sneeze at. I watch mine on plex and it works out great. If the VHS is older the quality will be lower even tho the rendering is 720p.
Its not rocket science and its not going to play magic with old VHS tapes. Its just a capture device. If youw ant a quality restoration then you will need someone to do the magic in Final cut for you. This will get from point a to point b and then your on your own after that.
I would spend way more for it and it has done 3 days now of videos with little pauses in between. Unless this thing breaks in a month then it will have served its purpose well. Will update if something changes.
