I absolutely love these bags. I had no idea how much space I was wasting in my carry-on! I generally fly for vacations 4-5 times a year and cannot stand waiting for the luggage carousel, so I try to pack all I can into my carry on suitcase. On a whim I bought these to try and get a bit more organized when traveling and was enlightened the second I used the compression feature. The seams on one or two of the bags is a bit suspect, but can be easily sewed back together if they completely give up the ghost. Obviously shoving as much crap into these bags when they're fully expanded is not going to accommodate for compression. The material does not stretch, so if it's already jam packed, it's not going to do it's job. For reference: I am a "standard" medium (5'9, 130lb). My standard 4-5 day trip pack is Large: 2 sweatshirts (non-hooded, 1 heavyweight, 1 lightweight), 2 pairs of sweat pants (1 heavyweight, 1 lightweight), 2 long sleeve shirts, 1 pair of levis, and 2 pair of leggings, fully compressed between 5-6lbs Medium: 4 tees, 4 tanks, 2 pairs of athletic shorts, 1 pair of jean shorts, fully compressed between 4-5lbs Small: Socks, undergarments, swimwear, cover up, scarves, other small goods, fully compressed 2-3lbs That is more than enough for a 5 day trip, and I don't even end up using all the bags most of the time. There is no reason whatsoever anyone should assume that shoving several days worth of entire outfits into a single one of these bags is going to work, unless you're the size of Jyoti Amge, in which case, go off. Don't discredit the product because you aren't intelligent enough to use it correctly, and don't slight the quality of a $6 a piece bag because it's not the quality of whatever overpriced brand it's being compared to. If you want $200 compression bag quality, go buy a $200 compression bag. For under $30 these things are a STEAL - they do the job, they stand up, they protect my clothes from unexpected product leaks, they keep you organized if you're keeping everything in your suitcase or they make moving in and out of hotels insanely easy, and they are super cute (PS pls bring back leopard print, I want to gift these to my travel bestie before she actually does steal mine).
