Good unit at the price point
I just got the MaxiClimber XL-2000. Here is my quick review.
Pros:
Easy to assemble. I did it by myself, no tools other than what they provide in the box. Takes about 30 minutes.
Small enough to use almost anywhere. I have it in a bedroom and I fold it up and put it behind the door when I'm finished. I can carry it by myself to different rooms, down to the garage, etc.
Provides a great workout. And it has 12 levels of resistance which you can build up to.
Cons:
I didn't get all the right parts. I got 2 right pedals and I am missing the cellphone holder. I contacted customer support to see about correcting that (waiting to hear back now).
The machine is almost too small for me. My knees hit the handles on every step (although, I can deal with it). The handles can be taken off if all you do is climb (which is what I'll probably do). But with the handles, if you are 6'2" or over, you might have an issue.
Overall, very happy with the purchase. I think it will do just what I need - a good cardio workout without getting into the gym quality units costing thousands of dollars (and some now requiring monthly subscriptions).
EDIT/UPDATE: I contacted customer support about getting the wrong pedal and the missing cellphone holder. It was a fairly easy email transaction. They sent out the parts I needed. Those arrived, and I put them on in just a few minutes. Everything is good.
