This is the Vitamin C supplement I like the most as it has 240mg of organic sourced whole vitamin c per capsule. I bought it to use as a more natural source of vitamin C that we need every day. It's involved in many body functions, including being a potent water-soluble antioxidant in humans, formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the immune system, wound healing, and more. Many animals can produce their own vitamin C and so do not need to get it from food, but humans require it as part of our nutrition. Unfortunately most people dont realize that Ascorbic Acid is synthetic made vitamin c. Thousands of bottles of ascorbic acid are purchased everyday under the misguided assumption that ascorbic acid is the same as Vitamin C. In nature, ascorbic acid is just one part (the outer ring) of the whole vitamin c complex. Vitamin C exists in nature as a complex of bioactive compounds including Ascorbinogen, Bioflavonoids, Rutin, Tyrosinase, Factor J, Factor K, and Factor P as mentioned that work synergistically to deliver therapeutic benefits. Ascorbic Acid unbinds copper from ceruloplasmin, and ceruloplasmin is needed to make copper usable in the body. Many times the synthetic is made industrially from GMO corn as well.
