A high definition secondary monitor that is mostly plug & play (given your laptop's USB-C port configuration) with a backup mini-HDMI port too should your laptop's USB-C not work for you. A separate power port is a good idea but requires hunting for a source. Overall a fantastic monitor that has enough on monitor controls for a pleasant secondary monitor experience. I almost wish they had not put the speakers on the monitor but the lead designer must have had a great sense of humor. You will need to switch audio away from HDMI should you have better audio output devices - like a real headphone or speaker. That said - this is a solid monitor and the speakers don't take anything away from it - so don't buy this expecting a Nakamichi 7.1 setup - its not and that's not a realistic expectation either. The picture quality including the smooth video is what you got going for this monitor. Word to the wise - custom calibrate white to get the truest colors on this monitor - and you will also learn the intricacies of the toggle switch.
