Diono car seats are heavy and expensive for a reason. We were in a roll over car accident before Thanksgiving. Both kiddos were strapped in their Diono seats. My 5 year old was in the 3R. He was nestled in the car seat. Side air bags went off and since this seat doesn’t have a head rest support like the 3XRT my son got a black eye from the air bags. It was small but it left a mark. He was shook up but no other injures occurred. Thank you Diono for making such a wonderful products. No damage to the seat what so ever! Due to manufacture instructions, the car seat needed to be replaced regards if the seat looks intact. Insurance covered the cost of a new car seat and we got the exact same one. Thanks to Amazon’s available we were able to get a new one the next day.
