Just got the 42” today. There were varying posts/opinions on the size needed for dogs so I wanted to post with pics. I’m getting this as a crate for camping with my 2 dogs as a place both of them to sleep at night (they won’t be in it outside of nighttime and I’m not trying to use it as a playpen). I also hoped for something that would fit in the vestibule of my tent (which it just barely does in the end of my REI Basecamp4). My dogs are each around 43 pounds but sized very differently (basset mix and chow mix). They both fit with loads of room to spare and should be able to sleep comfortably. It’s true to the measurements listed but seems huge (pic next to standard sized dining room table). The mesh and black interior (and black dogs) make it hard to see inside when it’s zipped shut, there is a waterproof looking lining inside, zips seem sturdy, and my teen-aged daughter set it up the first time with relative ease. It will need a pad in the bottom to make it more comfy for doggos.
