I first saw HexClad cookware on sale at the Wisconsin State Fair, and after doing some research online, it was apparent that these pans are really only available from direct sellers at fairs or other special events - that is if you want to get them for the best price. I scored my set at Costco for $350. I took them home, and seasoned them with vegetable oil per the instructions. That was a real mistake. The next meal I cooked, which was at high heat, literally turned the vegetable oil on the pan into brown gunk. I had to completely scrub the pan with Bon Ami cleanser to get the gunk off. I tried again, this time using Canola oil, which has a much higher smoking / burning temperature than vegetable oil, and viola, the pans worked great. I am now able to cook on them with little or no oil and the are very easy to clean up.
