My kids surprised me by asking for these. They have them at daycare, and they wanted some for home, too. I have to say, they were worth every penny - so far they've been turned into rabbits, cats, all kinds of pokemon, birds, buildings, plates, carrots, jelly beans, towers, wands - and that's just the first two weeks! As for size, they're basically square, slightly larger than your standard 2x2 Lego brick. The colors you get seem to be truly random, we have more of some colors than others. I'd suggest getting more than one set. Two or three are better - they can do more with them.
