Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

So, I read the reviews prior to my purchase and saw a lot of negative reviews. I travel a lot for work, and I'm finding a lot of hotels no longer have coffee makers in the room. I'm guessing due to COVID or because they have coffee in the lobby at any given time. Not sure, but I have to get up extremely early for work, and when I'm traveling, staying in a hotel, the last thing I want to do when I wake up on 3 AM is get dressed to go to the lobby just to get a cup of coffee. I went ahead and bought it because I didn't really find anything else that was compact AND programmable. Honestly, after using it several times, I have to believe the bad reviews are the result of user error. First, you definitely need to run vinegar through the new coffee maker several times to clean it out good. The first few times I ran vinegar through it, the strainer remained about 1/2 full. It wouldn't drain all the way, but after 3 or 4 rinses with the vinegar solution it drained completely. The filter is very fine, and is probably clogged up from whatever coating is on it from manufacturing. So, I can only speculate, those who say it kept spilling all over the counter didn't clean it properly before use. This coffee maker has been a life saver for travel. It's small enough to fit into my suitcase and makes just enough coffee that I need before I start my journey to a long arduous day of work. Bonus that it's programmable and I have hot coffee ready when I wake up. And the included water filter works great at getting the nasty taste out of whatever tap water I put in the thing. Definitely 5 stars!!
