I loved it. Matt Bomer is so talented. He could win an Emmy for this role, if the show is given a chance. He face shows so many layers and this character is very complicated! And of course, his beauty is luminous. Kelsey Grammar is great in his role, brings a real gravitas to the show. The other actors will grow into their characters more. Some of the subplots are a bit weak but they would improve, I would think. It was a lot to fit into a Pilot, as it is with pilots! I really see so much potential. The direction and cinematography were quite beautiful. The score was lovely. The costumes, hair, and makeup were divine. There were some specific stylistic choices that were fantastic: when Monroe touches Celia's shoulder and they pause for several seconds with him looking at her and her looking down. Very artful. And then the choice to have Monroe and Minna's conversation to be driving in a car --- specifically in a convertible that is filmed to be very, very fake, like a real 1930s film. I thought that was just brilliant. Anyway, there are some nitpicks, but really, it has so much potential. I hope it is picked up!
