This warranty covers everything it needs to cover, and when you sign up, they send you a well-written explanation of the coverage, and it is effective immediately, and then in the mail you get a confirmation letter detailing everything too. It's great coverage at a great price and totally worth adding to your Kindle Fire HD 7", as I did.
