This is a great, beautiful watch. I've had it nearly three months now and have never received so many positive comments about a watch before. It is absolutely beautiful and the blue/silver/gold draw eyes to it. If you aren't familiar with automatic watches, it's important to know how they function. 1. There is no battery. This is important because in order to keep the time, you MUST wear the watch on a daily basis. What does this mean? Basically, if you go a couple days without the watch on your arm, or moving, the gears will stop ticking the watch. Wearing this watch on your arm and moving it doing normal every day things is what powers this watch. If you look at the back of the watch you will see the dial move if you shift/rotate the watch. This is the watch powering itself. It's great because you never have to worry about the battery dying. However, if you do not wear watches often, it will constantly lose time because you are not "exercising" your watch. 2. The dial on the side is how you set the watch. You have to unscrew it until the dial pops out. After that you need to gently pull on the dial to change the date, pull again to change the time. When you are finished making changes you must push the dial into the watch (two clicks), and turn in a clockwise rotation until the dial can be spun/tightened no longer. Do not over tighten the watch as you could cause damage to the gears internal to the watch. Getting the dial tight again may take a second or two to get used to because you need to be pushing/turning the dial to tighten it back into the watch. Many people are complaining about the watch taking in moisture/water. This is because they are NOT tightening the dial as mentioned in #2. If your dial is not tight, of course water is going to get into and damage your watch. Hope this was helpful for the folks not familiar with this type of watch.
