I agree with many reviewers about this camera's strengths. They are listed, below. I travel a lot and and shoot a lot and though I have been happy with the portability/flexibility of small sensor cameras with large zoom ranges, every one of them eventually let dust onto the sensor. Bad! Yes, I have even taken these cameras apart to clean the sensor (2x!) That's a lot of time and a lot of very tiny screws! So, even though this camera is bigger and heavier than long zoom pocket cameras, the weather-proofing and dust-proofing was the most important feature, to me, combined with the zoom. A few weeks with it, now, and I couldn't be happier. Rain and dust have not hampered thousands of picture taking moments. Good! But the amazing zoom and speed of operation on this camera is simply astonishing!
