This was a great idea that should have worked without a problem. However there's a one way valve that seemed to be either stuck or installed the wrong way. After inserting the needle in the cork, all I could get was one pump before the thing locked up. When I took it out of the cork it worked fine with the needle pointed up but NOT down so it just didn't work. Hoping to get a replacement. I like the idea and it should work. This one just had a manufacturing problem. I used my DeVine- two prong opener instead. No problem. I didn't think my original review was bad... just that they had some minor manufacturing/quality control problems. The seller was exceptionally gracious and responsive and shipped me an upgraded replacement unit. This works as described. It takes a little getting used to. As you pump the unit, the cork comes slightly out of the bottle and then POPS similar to opening Champagne but without that full amount of force. I'm happy with the opener and exceptionally happy that someone actually cares about customer service. Any wine person always has multiple openers. This should be one of them.
