I wasn't sure I was going to keep this when I first received it, it seemed way too big to work as promised, especially on the edge of small spaces. However, after visiting a public restroom with no hooks and only a very thin bit of decorative tile going halfway up the wall (see photo), this thing worked perfectly and now I won't go anywhere without it! It has saved me from having to put my purse on the floor at many public restrooms and restaurants! Slides easily into the small back pocket on my purse. Bonus use: I sometimes clip it around the metal brackets of my car's passenger-side headrest to hold grocery bags so they don't spill everywhere when I have to drive on winding roads.
