I had my second c-section in November 2018. There is something about a C-section that until your tummy gets back to what you know is normal there is a hang over the cut line. It does not help your belly confidence. I realized that I NEEDED underwear that had a waistline over the cut and above the hip. Until these undies I feel like I was missing out on a good thing. I wear dresses and skirts 95% of the time. These undies minimize pantylines, are sleek and comfortable, and as far as I am concerned are really somewhat like cotton spanks (based on what I know what spanks help to reduce - appearance of rolls and pantylines) Based on how they fit they smoothed over the c-section hang...they do not hold your belly in so to speak as they are not a belly band but they do make you feel confident as they do not ride up, the waist stays in place and just moves with your body's natural movement, and panty lines are minimal. I took a risk to purchase based on the reviews to increase my butt/belly confidence and I am pleased.😀 I wasn't expecting any magic (to shrink my waist, etc.) so I wasn't disappointed. I took a picture to compare my usual hipsters with these high rise. I know they look HUGE and soooooooo unsexy but they feel great and absorbs sweat well for those of us who sweat down there, and when they are on they are fine. Plus I am wearing them to go back to work and on the road running errands on the weekends so I really don't need sexy underwear for that...I can save those sexy undies for bed time (wink😀). I followed the measurement...my current hip (after putting on a whopping 50lbs with this pregnancy) is 44 so got the XL and they fit just right. I felt it was better if they ended up fitting a little big instead of a little tight because the tight would more than likely show panty lines and defeat part of their purpose; plus incase they shrunk after washing, which based on my observation, they didn't. As others have said they cannot be worn with low riding pants/skirt as the waist comes above it so I imagine you would need to try the mid-rise version of these undies so that your undies dont show at the waist. I would have rated them lower with 4 stars because one of them came with a factory default but I immediately contacted the seller who responded quickly and resolved the issue satisfactorly for me...so together I rate the undies and the seller 5 stars. I recommend and would buy these "Granny Panties" again.
