A TRUE DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH - PLUS A COMPARISON TO THE EARTHEANA TWS-X9; ENACFIRE, HUMIXX; TOUHONEST; & CSHIDWORLD
Like other reviewers, I was skeptical whether the reviews were genuine or paid for fake reviews. Also, I do consider myself very picky and selective with the sound quality of my audio equipment and headphones over the years, spending $1500 on Fostex TH900 headphones, Sennheisser Noise-Canceling headphones and owning countless of premier brands (JVC S-Class Wood, Bowers & Wilkins, etc.). Let's cut to the chase. The value is downright amazing. For $50.00 I would have expected to pay $100-$200 for these. I prefer a V-shape sound. The bass is punchy and deep. The treble is pretty crisp clear on most songs. There is no "muddiness" that I would have expected. The soundstage is impressive as well. Probably like you, I was hesitant to buy an off-brand -- TRANYA? What is that? Don't be fooled. Do they sound like $500- $1,000 headphones? Of course not. But for $50.00 you will get an amazing sound for an incredibly affordable price. Is it perfect? No. Will it please 90-95% of those who are picky about sound? Yes. Also, remember, a KEY to sound quality in any earbud is the tight, isolation FIT of the foam or rubber earpiece to the listener. If you don't have a snug fit, you could lose up to 30-75% of the sound quality. Also, if you have a graphic equalizer or tone adjustment on your phone or MP3 player, this can resolve 90% of sound preference issues.
They are also quite small so they don't look like an alien is growing out of your year (though it does have a charming alien face design). That was important to me since I use these primarily for the gym. The case is small with magnetic connections and pair very easily. The charging case also is a portable charger.
I also purchased the Eartheana TWS-X9. They sounded surprisingly excellent as well - with a slightly different, but not necessarily a better sound. The case for the Eartheana was very nice and had some weight to it with some metal casing. I felt it made the Tranya charger case seem a bit cheap with mostly plastic casing. That said, however, the dealbreaker for me was the sheer bulk of the Eartheana compared to the small footprint of the Tranya since I intend to use the primarily for the gym and working out. Frankly, the Eartheana looked ridiculous in my ear. One last note, if you use aftermarket foam or rubber earpieces (as I do), the Tranya was fine to cater to third-party earpieces such as the Comply brand. However, the Eartheana had noticeably smaller connection, so aftermarket foam or rubber earpieces won't have any degree of secure fit on very well on the Eartheana.
UPDATE 6/14: So in furtherance of my endless pursuit of the best sounding earbuds at a reasonable price, I purchased several other truly wireless earbuds based on Amazon buyers' high reviews. The earbuds that I found were definitely supbar compared to the Tranya as far as sound quality were the TOUHONEST and CSHIDWORLD. The two earbuds that sounded excellent and very, very close to the high quality sound were the HUMIXX and the ENACFIRE. I felt the HUMIXX had a slightly wider soundstage than the Tranya, but did no have as clear separation between the bass and treble. The Tranya sounded more clean, separate, and crisp. The ENACFIRE sounded virtually identical to the Tranya. You would have to have very detailed ears to hear any difference. I believe the same manufacturer may manufacture the Tranya and the Enacfire since they have the same shape and same connection but with different charging box.
I preferred the metal base of the Enacfire charging box over the plastic Tranya. However, for whatever reason, the very, very minute sound difference leaned me to the Tranya once again. However, that could be simply as a result of having more "burn in" (use) time with the Tranya. as a side bar, do not underestimate the value that listening to your earbuds for several hours before rendering full judgment. The sound will generally evolve, open up, and improve over time - sounding better. This is precisely what I experienced with the Tranya. I think if I ever had to replace my Tranyas, I would strongly consider replacing them with the Enacfire simply because they are that close in sound quality and size, but the prefer the better quality charging case. I know Tranya is 5.0 bluetooth, but I am not clear what version bluetooth is in the Enacfire.
Do the Tranya earbuds ever drop sound from one or both earbuds? Yes, but only on rare occasions. When I had my phone in my shorts pocket while I biked and turned my head left for an extended period of time, it would sometimes cut off for a split second, not enough to be concerning. This is a common issue with virtually all truly wireless bluetooth headphones at this stage of bluetooth technology.
So, I would rank as far as sound quality: #1 Tranya; #2 Enacfire, and #3 Humixx. Note that they all have VERY, VERY good sound and heavy on bass. Note: I just prefer a more balanced emphasis on bass AND crisp sounding treble. V-shape sound. Deep bass and crisp, clear highs. If you prefer a neutral "studio" earbud, you should look elsewhere... and expect to pay a premium $300 plus.
