This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. We rescued Molly three weeks ago and found out that - while she has a scar where you would think she's been spayed - she's not been spayed. She was having bloody discharge from her lady parts. So, we took her to the vet who confirmed the typical scar location for the spay surgery. He concluded she must have an infection and prescribed an antibiotic. On the SECOND visit to the vet, he confirms she is in heat! We bought some crappy disposable diapers. Absolutely awful. A pain to get on. A pain to keep on. And poor Molly walks funny with them. I bought these out of desperation. Amazon next day shipping and BAM! They are a lifesaver. They fit well. They are a little tough to figure out, at first. The trick to getting them on? Our girl loves the belly rubs. So, we get her on her back, slip her tail through the hole and get the velcro on. Then we get her to stand and square it all up. (The last photo is before we've squared up. They look good on.) No more blood all over the house. And Little Miss Fancy-Pants doesn't seem to mind them. She still licks the area, but she doesn't try to get them off - like she did with the disposables. Cleaning: I use a little OxyClean and pretreat and they come out of the washer looking great. We do not use a pantyliner. There is enough padding that it could absorb some liquid. I never thought I would write a review like this. But man, we were not looking forward to three more weeks of heat. We are very happy with these and feel very confident recommending.
