Someone tried breaking into our home when I was still inside. I'm still worried if the person will ever come back so I want to slow him down as much as possible. It looks overkill but you can't put a price on feeling safe in your own home again. The only thing I'm familiar with is building IKEA furniture so this was considered a jump in the learning curve. I ended up installing this without any modifications and it took about 20 minutes to finish. PROBLEM: I wasn't able to close the door after the hinge shields were installed. The nail would rip out of the door hinge if I closed it all the way. FIX: The instruction says not to over-tighten the screws. I ended up tightening what I thought would be over-tightened and the door closed without a problem. Some say the MAX combo is overkill but after being inside my home while the burglar repeatedly kicked my door, it's worth it.
