Had a lot of fun things with this camera
UPDATED 7/19/2021 Been using the dashcam camera for more than a year! Still in love with it... except for one thing: the camera seems to use too much electricity from my car's battery in parking timelapse mode. Most of the time my car needs to shut it off automatically to protect the car's battery from being empty. Maybe the battery capacity of my car is not large (Volkswagen Jetta 2019) and thankfully it has an auto shut-off feature but be aware that it could potentially drain out of your car battery in timelapse mode! Anyway, I decided to buy a second one for my friend's car and going to install it this weekend. [Original review] I have been using multiple dashcam cameras for +8 years and mirror dashcam camera for about 5 years. This is the best I have ever had. Instead of relisting the features that were mentioned in other reviews, I would like to highlight the valued features that make this camera superior to its competitors. 1. Timelapse feature: typically a dashcam would protect you on the road, but with this feature, it protects you while the car is parked as well. If you hard wired (B081TY3H7T) the camera to your car fuse box which provided a constant power, whenever you turn off the car, the camera will go into timelapse mode which takes a frame (or more) per second and save them to a video file. Imagine how you would benefit from this feature. If someone bumped into your parking car, you would have a proof! And it acts as a secret security camera too! 2. GPS: they have nice software to replay your recorded video with the location of your car on a map, side by side. The GPS info was embedded into the MOV file so if you like programming, you can extract the GPS data from the MOV to show all the roads you had been on during a trip (see my photos). 3. Nice screen saver mode: you can put your mirror into a mode that only show your heading direction, speed, and time if you just want to use it as a normal mirror (the video is still recording, of course). It feels like you get a luxury mirror from expensive cars. 4. Speed notification: you can set the mirror so that it will give a beep to warn you when you are driving over a certain speed you can set beforehand. This would potentially help you avoid speeding tickets when you don't know that you actually drive too fast. The speed the mirror calculates from the GPS signal of is pretty accurate by the way. 5. Customer service: they have the best customer service I have ever known you would expect from a Chinese based company. Whenever you ask a question (on Amazon or email), they reply less than 24h with a lot of useful info and supporting. Kudos for you, Wolfbox! Some cons I could see though: 1. There is no way to turn off speed display without unplugging the GPS module. 2. The Lane Departure Warning is not working consistently. Sometime it gives out a warning beep for no reasons. 3. Sometimes it takes a while (5-10 mins) to lock down the GPS satellites even though the sky was clear with no obstructions. Several things I don't know since I have been using the camera for only 1 month: 1. How well it could handle with hot temperature in the summer. My previously used camera turns off because it was too hot inside my car. UPDATE May 23, 2020: It looks like when the temperature inside the car was too hot, the camera automatically turned off the Timelapse. UPDATED 7/19/2021: I think the problem came from my car, not because the camera was too hot. My car battery was automatically shut off to avoid being empty after using it in +6 hours in timelapse (parking) mode. 2. In the timelapse mode, it has to work 24/24h so it would shorten the life of the camera. Let's wait to see how durable the camera is. UPDATED 7/19/2021: it's still working! Other than that, I'm very happy with this purchase (after testing a couple of other cameras).
