I have been using this filter in Haiti for 3 months, and have installed them for others who don't have access to purified water. From a health standpoint, I give the product high marks. I have not been sick since using the filter. Water-borne viral illnesses are rare in my community, so the inability to filter viruses is moot. My main complaint to the plastic housing. The design is good, making it convenient to attach the filter directly to a water spigot. However, the plastic material does not hold up to many cycles of attachment/detachment from the spigot, and the threads get worn out. Metal would be a better material for this part of the housing.
